Īccording to the game lore (Released on the 8th anniversary of Terraria's release), the World of Terraria was a world of peace that the gods created to grant fairness to each being. The game is noted for its classic exploration-adventure style of gameplay, similar to games such as the Metroid series and Minecraft. The game has a 2D sprite tile-based graphical style reminiscent of the 16-bit sprites found on the Super NES. Terraria is a 2D sandbox game with gameplay that revolves around exploration, building, crafting, combat, survival, and mining, playable in both single-player and multiplayer modes. When i went into the folder all that showed was that the world name was blank and no (world name).wld.In-game screenshot showing the player at the starting area of a newly generated world It's also possible that your game may also be corrupted, or that it is corrupting your world files somehow, but that part I do not know yet. Your world file(s) are definately corrupted. Originally posted by Salinité:Actually, yes, that does mean something to me. Originally posted by Zemecton:Actually, yes, that does mean something to me. You may also want to verify the integrity of your game cache before and/or after reinstalling your game. It would not hurt to reinstall your game after you've either restored your world files or made their duplicates useable there is a chance your game itself could be corrupting your files and the simplest way to remedy this is with a reinstallation to clear up any installation bugs in your game. Once you Save & Exit, a new duplicate file with the ".wld.bak" file extension should be created. You can then enter your game and use that file. Take out the ".bak" part of the file extension and that file should become useable by the game. Its duplicate backup will have the ".wld.bak" file extension. The file you just threw into the Recycle Bin would have had the ".wld" file extension. If it doesn't fix the problem, or if you aren't given the option to restore the file to a previous version, then delete the file (put it in the Recycle Bin for now) and find the file's duplicate copy.

From the pop-up menu that appears, select "Restore previous version." That should help. Right-click on the world file(s) that are corrupted. To restore/uncorrupt your world file(s), go to your Terraria Worlds folder.Ĭ:\Users\(your user name)\Documents\My Games\Terraria\Worlds
